The most amazing views! We chose the 4-hour ride, the guides knew exactly what they were doing, explained everything perfectly clear so everyone enjoyed the experience. 100% recommended! We did a sunrise kayak tour (5:30am) to the Capilla y Catedrales de Mármol with Andrés and it was really cool! The introduction for the kayaking, the explanations about the rock formations and the whole guiding was excellent. Of course also the tour itself. I can totally recommend it! Andrés always made sure that everybody feels safe, comfortable and also understood everything of his Spanish and English explanations. We also were able to spend a lot of time at the marble caves and were never rushed. On top Andrés is taking very nice pics that you can get after the tour. So a really great experience and a fun and great guide! In the afternoon we also did 4 hours of horsebackriding with Iván, which was also great! Very friendly and relaxed guy, who showed us everything about riding a horse (we both are fit, but beginners) and then took us on a tour with stunning views over the lake and the surrounding mountains. Definetly also a recommendation! The whole Journey of Life team really seems to like what they are doing and want you to have the best possible experience. You can definetly feel that.

Planning Your Adventures in Patagonia (FAQs)
How far in advance should I book my guided Patagonia tours?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for January and February, when the demand for the best Patagonia tours is at its peak. Securing your spot in advance ensures your preferred time slot and allows us to provide a more personalized service for your Chilean Patagonia trip.
What happens if the weather prevents our Patagonia adventure tours?
Safety is our top priority. For water-based activities, we follow Port Authority regulations; if winds exceed 6 m/s, the port closes, and we offer a full refund or rescheduling. For land-based Patagonia guided tours, light rain and wind typically do not cancel the departure, as our trails are well-protected by native forests.
Do your all-inclusive Patagonia tours include technical gear?
Yes. For our luxury riding holidays, we coordinate private door-to-door transportation from your hotel or lodge in the Puerto Rio Tranquilo area. We handle all logistics so you can focus entirely on the Patagonian landscape without worrying about local transit.
Do I need previous experience for these adventures in Patagonia?
No previous experience is required. Most of our guided trips to Patagonia have a low to moderate physical demand, making them accessible to travelers of various fitness levels. We provide a comprehensive safety induction before every tour, and our professional guides accompany the group at all times.
How do I reach the starting point for my tours in Rio Tranquilo?
Our meeting point is located in the center of Puerto Rio Tranquilo. For activities like the kayak to the Marble Caves or horseback riding, we provide local transportation (included in the price) to the shore of Lake General Carrera or the private ranch. You don’t need to worry about local logistics.
Are these experiences safe for children or senior travelers?
Absolutely. We specialize in family-friendly Patagonia tours. For children and seniors, we use double kayaks for extra stability and adapt the pace of our horseback riding routes. We recommend booking early morning slots when the water is calmest to ensure the most comfortable experience for all ages.
